Dodge Challenger Arrives Late Summer
With the success of the 2009 Dodge Challenger Drag Pak (all 100 units sold out quickly), Mopar has announced the continuance of the track-only, non-street-legal setup for 2010. It's available for order via www.Mopar.com and carries a $39,999 MSRP.
The 2010 Challenger Drag Pak is NHRA-approved for Stock, Super Stock, and Comp Eliminator classes, and can be configured for 40 other NHRA/IHRA categories. The Drag Pak is based on the Challenger SRT8 with a 6.1-liter Hemi V-8 and sheds over 1000 pounds thanks to the deletion of many OEM systems. It can be set up to take a four-speed auto or six-speed manual gearbox, neither of which is provided.
Added to the mix is a composite vented hood, Viper-style seats, polycarbonate door windows, a lightweight cooling module with electric fan, manual rack and pinion steering, a cable operated deck-lid release, lightweight front brakes, and a cable-operated throttle linkage and pedal assembly.
